Luke Song

Founder & president

An avid coding enthusiast since 7th grade, Luke Song is a rising senior at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley who loves turning ideas into reality. His concern for his sister’s safety during the Los Angeles wildfires sparked a deep interest in wildfire awareness and fire safety advocacy. In his free time, you can find him hiking, reading novels, or working on coding and research projects designed to make lives easier for everyone.

Baoyi Tu

Vice president

Baoyi Tu is a rising senior at Archbishop Mitty High School. Through years of service learning and connecting with the community, he became deeply aware of the everyday risks many families face, including the danger of home fires. He believes that awareness and preparation can save lives and protect neighborhoods. Outside of FireRoots, he is passionate about robotics, music, and nighttime walks—small things that help him recharge and stay curious
